On April 26, 2023, I planted six original edition copies of GULF in various Little Free Libraries in Cochrane AB with this message inside:
Pssst. Hey you! I'm a book on a mission and I need your help. Do you have a second? Scan the QR code and comment where you found me. Have more than a second? I'm a wordy book, but I'd love to be a worldly one. Can I hitch a ride with you to somewhere new? I've always dreamed of being a beach read, or a mountain retreat downtime book, but I'm not picky. Heck, I'll hang out with you on public transit, or we can chill in a waiting room. But when we part ways, could you do me a solid favor? Leave me somewhere rain proof? I'm partial to little free libraries. Hop in, reader. We're going on a road trip. Where? That's up to you.

I found this book at the little book library at the Riversong playground in Cochrane. When I saw your note inside I took it as a challenge. I’m not going to lie, it took a while to be successful. I planned to take it on a trip to Cabo SAN Lucas, Mexico in fall of 2024 but I arrived at the resort and realized I had left the book at home. Next I planned to take it to Kelowna but the trip was cancelled. I am happy to report that I have successfully completed the challenge today summer 2026). This book flew from Calgary to Toronto and from Toronto to Lisbon, Portugal. Then we moved on to Porto and finally…
